Can you imagine actress Anna Kendrick play the role of a female Santa Claus? Disney definitely can, and as a matter of fact, the "Pitch Perfect" actress is in talks with the company for an upcoming Christmas movie.

Entertainment Weekly reported that the movie is currently going by the title "Nicole", and it tells the story of Father Christmas' daughter, who steps up to handle Christmas delivery duties after St. Nick retires and her brothers chicken out of the responsibility.

According to Cinema Blend, the movie will be penned by Marc Lawrence - who also did "Miss Congeniality" and "Music and Lyrics".  Lawrence is also said to direct the movie, while Susanne Todd will produce it, and Louie Provost will oversee the project for Disney.

The storyline may not be all brand new, considering that Santa Claus movies have been around ever since.  A female Santa Claus story has also been done before, and Whoopi Goldberg played the role for the 2001 TV movie "Call Me Claus".  But many agree that the storyline for Anna Kendrick's holiday family adventure movie sounds interesting.

This is not the first time that the 31-year-old Kendrick appeared in a Disney movie.  She starred as Cinderella in the film adaptation of the hit musical "Into The Woods".  Reports say, though, that Disney's upcoming holiday movie won't be musical.

Meanwhile, 2017 is going to be a busy year for Kendrick.  Filming for "Pitch Perfect 3" has already started, and she will reprise her role as Beca Mitchell.  Just last week, co-star Rebel Wilson posted an Instagram picture which shows behind-the-scenes photo of the first day. The Barden Bellas posed with three fingers up, representing the film's third installment.  The movie is set to be released later in December, meaning, it may also have a holiday vibe.
