Nissan is among the leading automaker companies that are now into the use of CES stage which will further announce a self-driving car technology. However, despite its self-driving capacity, those cars will still need the aid of humans in order to navigate.

According to the Nissan's chairman of the board and CEO, Carlos Ghosn, he detailed the company's plan on intelligent mobility blueprint during his keynote presentation on Thursday, as per Digital Trends report.

There are cores that the CEO had spoken about and one of which is the SAM or Seamless Autonomous Mobility which has been designed in order to address autonomous vehicle reactions to unpredictable circumstances. It has been modelled after NASA's Visual Environment for Remote Virtual Exploration software that is used to visualize interplanetary robots.

According to former NASA's scientist and now director of Nissan Research Center, Maarten Sierhuis, he aimed to change the transportation infrastructure of today. They wanted to reduce facilities in order to ease congestion. Nissan on the other hand, has also had given a preview of the next-generation of Nissan Leaf. It highlights the vehicle to be auto-driving for single-lane highways.

It can be remembered in March 2016 that Ghosn who is also the CEO of Nissan's sister company Renault, planned to launched at least 10 vehicles with hands-free, and self-driving functionality by 2020. Nissan has test planned in different countries like US, Japan, Europe, and China, as per USA Today reports.

It is their goal to accelerate the advancement of Nissan cars to the heart of the mass market, Ghosn added. The automaker company is now in the works of Nissan Leaf which will have ProPilot technology on board. This allows cars to self-drive itself and also has the feature that stops through Tesla's AutoPilot feature.

Further, Ghosn has previously announce that they are into partnership with non-profit small cities as they plan to target these self-driving car and thus cities must work as partners as well.
