Popular anchor, Megyn Kelly recently announced that she will be moving from Fox news to NBC.  A lot of people have since been curious about how much her net worth is and if money is the real reason behind her decision.

According to Fortune, the reason why Kelly left Fox after 12 years is because she wants a job that would give her more family time. Her new gig at NBC news includes hosting a daily daytime show and a Sunday newsmagazine program. She will also contribute to the network's political coverage.

Kelly was making millions at Fox, reports say about $15 million a year, and according to New York Times, Fox offered Kelly as much as $20 million a year to stay.  Sources close to the deal won't comment on the exact sum, but NBC was one of multiple networks claiming they couldn't match Fox News' offer.

She was clearly an asset to the company, and the Wall Street Journal even reported that her Fox show pulled in 2.7 million viewers.  Even a modest raise would place Kelly as one of television's highest paid journalists.

Matt Lauer's salary is at least $25 million. Forbes says Bill O'Reilly earns about $24 million. Page Six, though, put O'Reilly's salary at between $15 and $17 million a year.  CNN anchor Anderson Cooper reportedly earns at least $11 million with bonuses, but is worth $100 million, while Katie Couric made $10 million a year for Yahoo and $15 million a year at CBS News.

Aside from being an anchor, Megyn Kelly is also an author. "Settle For More" chronicles Kelly's career as well as her sexual harassment accusations against former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes.  Hollywood reporter said that Kelly "received a reported $6 million advance from publisher HarperCollins (a 21st Century Fox subsidiary.)"
