Sanjay Van is a vast forest area spread over around 10 km. Travelers who visited the area reported having seen a lady dressed in a white saree appearing suddenly around the cremation ground near that area. Sanjay Van is regarded as a most haunted place in Delhi.

D'Souza Chawl in Mahim, Mumbai

D'Souza Chawl has bested Mahim the reputation of being the most haunted place in Mumbai. Tales of a woman seen hovering by the nearby well area was told by locals and visiting travelers. According to Holidify, there was a story of a woman who fell into the well and died crying for help.

Bhangarh Fort - Ajabgarh, Alwar, Rajasthan

The ghost town of Bhangarh is situated adjacent a popular forest, is now slowly enticing visiting travelers from around the area, and country, for all the wrong reasons. Bhangarh is one of the scariest, spookiest places in India. According to stories, a magician fell in love with a princess, because the old law prohibits this kind of relationship, the magician cast a spell to have the princess. Unfortunately, the princess learned of his evil plan and ordered his death. Prior his death, the magician cursed the place and cause doom to it.

Kuldhara - Rajasthan

The village of Kuldhara is famous to be a deserted ghost village abandoned since the 1800s. The place is believed to be cursed similar to the fate of its villagers who disappeared from there overnight, after having lived there for over 7 centuries. It was told that one night in 1825 all the people in Kuldhara and the nearby 83 villages vanished. BetterIndia noted that the villagers were believed to have cast a spell in the village when the then minister of state Salim Singh fell in love with the chieftain's daughter and threatened to impose heavy taxes if they will not permit him to marry her. It is said that the villagers also cast a spell on the village as they left, cursing anyone who tried to live the land.
