"Overwatch" is a first-person shooter game that was developed by Blizzard Entertainment, and it was initially released on the 23rd of May 2016. The game has been receiving a handful of positive feedbacks from their critics and players, and so Blizzard Entertainment decided to give thanks by giving freebies.

According to Game Stop, "Overwatch's" Christmas event was teased earlier in December, which has gone live for three weeks now. The loot boxes will be received upon logging into the game, which has a chance to unlock new items. The Christmas event is called "Overwatch's" Winter Wonderland event and this event will run until January 2, 2017.

The players who have signed in will also receive a thank you notice shortly after logging into the game, and this is due to the support, passion, and enthusiasm that everyone has shown for the "Overwatch" game. This is probably the reason why Blizzard Entertainment decided to give away free loot boxes, and there are more incoming and possibly this January there will be an event.

According to an earlier report from IGN, the Winter Wonderland event has replaced all earned or purchased loot boxes into Winter Loot Boxes. The loot boxes contain over 100 themed cosmetic items which also includes icons, highlight, intros and skins like the Torbjorn Santa skin and Winston skin that resembles a yeti. In addition, the Winter Wonderland event has also added a new brawl game mode called Mei's Snowball offensive. The new mode is a six-versus-six, single-elimination match where players will be using a modified version of Mei.

Mei's weapon is also no longer spraying frost or fires icicles but instead shoots a one-hit-kill snowball, which must be reloaded by finding piles of snow all over the battle map. Mei's ultimate move has also been changed; she is now turning her blaster into a semi-automatic that has the ability to rapid fire when activated.

Moreover, two maps have also been added during the Winter Wonderland event such as Hanamura and King's Row in celebration for the holiday. Watch the Overwatch's Winter Wonderland preview below and subscribe for more updates!
