"Super Mario Run" was just recently released, and within its four days release it has been downloaded 40million times. It was announced by Nintendo on the 21st of December 2016, and the figure now holds a record for the fastest-downloaded game in the App Store.

According to Polygon, Phil Schiller was the one who declared its record for the fastest-downloaded game. Phil Schiller is the senior vice president for the Apple's worldwide marketing, and he made the statement during a press release. In addition, the companies have not revealed which app held the previous four-day record.

The "Super Mario Run" has exceeded download numbers from different analytics firm. Upon its launch day it has been downloaded 2.85million based on Apptopia and 5million based on SuperData. App Annie has also estimated its number of downloads for a total of 3.5million within 14 hours, and it was updated later on for a total of 10million for the game's first 24 hours release.

According to an earlier report on Forbes, despite the "Super Mario Run" download figures Nintendo still struggles on its stocks. This is due to its free-to-play offer, and the game's awkward pricing structure. The game can be downloaded for free and play a few levels, and if ever you want the whole game pack you will have to pay to get the rest of the game's downloadable content.

The pricing structure of the game has vastly disappointed a lot of its players, and the free-to-play game has turned messy due to its premium 10 USD content release. The game was also criticized to be more or less like the app "Temple Run," and they simply think it's an endless running game.

This might not be the case if you are willing to pay the 9.99 USD to gain access to the other game modes of "Super Mario Run." The "Super Mario Run" mobile game still has the highest figures in number of downloads. Is the game going to last longer despite its bad reviews, and criticism?
