Island hoping is one of the best pleasures in life. Tropical beaches that have never been explored or commercialized are many in Vietnam. Some of the world's best islands are found in Vietnam.

Nha Trang Island

This island being located in Vietnam is hot all year round. It has been a famous vacation spot for the Vietnamese. It has been popular since 1990's.

Nha Trang offers everything a tourist is looking for: palm tree-shaded beaches, booze to numb the mind, cruises and live bands as shared by CNN. Going to Nha Trang was made easy with reasonably-priced direct lights from Moscow and Guangzhou. Russians and Chinese tourists flock on the island during the summer season.

Like much of Vietnam, this island had a frenzy of building construction including high-end ones. Sheraton and resorts like Mia and Amanoi are already catering to Nha Trang's upscale market.

For those who want to splurge, there is the Six Senses Ninh Van Bay which offers seclusion and privacy. It offers villas with private pools, starting at $600 dollars per night. It is nestled on the remote Nonh Van Bay, just 20 minutes ride by boat from Nha Trang. A spa, waterskiing, tennis, hiking, and even cooking classes are available at the resort.

From Nha Trang, there is a nearby island called Whale Island, an unspoiled island, quiet and peaceful. This is more affordable an eco-friendly resort with basic amenities. It is a two-hour boat ride from Nha Trang. Whale Island is a no noise, no frills, and no parties. One can experience the basic in life.

Hon Tre Island

If traveling with kids and they get tired of romping on the beach, then there is the Vinpearl Land on Hon Tre Island. This is Vietnam's Disney World. It has an aquarium, water park, and beach all in one. The admission fee is $30. Vinpearl has a resort on another part of the island with a lush 18-hole golf course designed by IMG Worldwide.

Phu Quoc and Con Dao

When the Nha Trang area has been saturated and enjoyed, there is another option to visit. Phu Quoc and Con Dao is an hour flight from Saigon. These two islands were used as prison islands during the French colonialism and the Vietnam War.

The Nha Trang area isn't the only option for island hopping in the south. About an hour flight from Saigon, Phu Quoc and Con Dao were both used as prison islands during French colonial times and the Vietnam War.

The world's best islands are just a few hours flight away. It is best to explore them ahead of the world.
