The talk show host wore a sweater that had the word "love" written on it during a taped episode on Tuesday afternoon. Her monologue was based on the outcome if Donald Trump will win the presidency which happened hours later. Despite the various negative reactions from Hollywood about the election results, Ellen chose to make her speech "positive, uplifting and funny."

"Well, well, well. The election is finally over. I don't want to know the results, don't tell me. Don't spoil it. It's on my DVR. I'm watching other stuff, she began. The truth is we're taping this show on Tuesday afternoon, so people at home you know something that I don't and that we all don't," she said. The election results were announced on Tuesday evening November 8, according to Eonline

"People have been very passionate about this race. And I think it's because we all love our country, we just have different ideas about what's best for it, which is part of what makes America great," she continued. The host prefers to see the best in America and its people although the country has divided attitudes toward the election as reported by Eonline.

"And I believe we can all come together because if you take away the labels, you realize we're far more alike than we are different." She then shared hilarious stories of how people with contradicting beliefs could come together and agree on "certain horrors of everyday living." "For instance, no matter what your politics are, we all have that feeling of stepping out of the shower and realizing you left the towel completely across the bathroom. And you have to do that shimmy on the bathmat all the way across where you try to get the minimal amount of water trying to tiptoe like, "Just that one drop of water will be there if I do it anyway."

The comedienne also shared another instance. "We all do that thing when you are pulling into a parking garage and you duck your head just to make sure you make it. It does not matter if you're a liberal or if you're conservative,"she continued. "We've all passed out watching Netflix and woke up not knowing what episode we're on, what season we're on, on whose couch we're on."The Ellen DeGeneres Show host concluded her monologue with a message of hope.

"What I'm trying to say is that we have so much in common, our differences actually make us stronger," she said. On her monologue she also mentioned that we need to have kindness and respect to one another and on a humorous note she continued, "Here's where I make the exception: the people that leave the shopping carts in the middle of your parking spot. Out of the country. Kick them out of the country. Bring the shopping cart back!"

"Whether you relate more to an elephant or a donkey, I think animals set the best example for how we should all get along." She wrapped up her segment by showing a video of different animal species playing and getting along with each other reported by Eonline.
