The Market Watch says that there are several ways pensioners use their valuable time and finances during retirement--one of which is travel. There is a vast selection of cities and countries that on can go to in order to truly delight in a retirement travel.

1. Thailand

Thailand, "The Land of Smiles", has a stunning tropical climate which gives way to a variety of wonderful activities. The country is rich in beautiful waters and exciting water activities.

Investopedia has published an article explaining the top seven cities for retirement in Thailand. One can choose from a laid-back province like Chiang Mai to a beach-oriented place like Phuket or to a modern-living area like Bangkok. 

2. Sri Lanka 

Sri Lanka, "The Pearl of the Indian Ocean", is a desirable option for a retirement destination because of its traditional lifestyle and low cost of living.

Numbeo, the world's largest database of cities and countries, posted a comparison of living costs between Sri Lanka and the USA. "Cost of living in Sri Lanka is 55.75% lower than in United States (aggregate data for all cities, rent is not taken into account). Rent in Sri Lanka is 78.20% lower than in United States (average data for all cities)."

3. Philippines

The Philippines, or "The Pearl of the Orient Seas", is a significant choice as a retirement destination because of its hospitality towards foreigners. For those planning to retire in the country, there are agencies that help facilitate such as the Philippine Retirement Authority. There are a great number of call centers and English as a Second Language schools which can be potential source of income for pensioners who might like to travel and work at the same time.

4. Malaysia

International Living listed Malaysia as one of the best cities in the world to retire at in 2016. Malaysia is known for its diverse cuisine and opulent heritage. With a variety of ethnicities, beliefs and languages, this country attracts many foreigners. Foreigners find this country exotic because of its wilderness and World Heritage sites.
