Further Future: Music and Technology Collides In The Nevada Desert

Further Future made waves in the festival world when it launched in 2015, for its remote location at the Moapa River Indian Reservation, roughly an hour north of the Las Vegas strip, for its unconventional lineup that featured left-field artists over the usual stable of EDM superstars and mostly, for its exclusive, invite-only admission policy that requires potential attendees to make the case for entry via Facebook, often resulting in sparsely populated dance floors.

Many festivals allude to aspirations to a utopian future where extraordinary art, music and thought leadership are held on the highest of pillars, far away from society's limitations and judgments. For Further Future, it abides by the motto of "aspiring to help seed the discovery of new knowledge and technologies to protect and heal our planet, our societies and one another, and to help us reach the next stage in our collective evolution".

With more than 70 acts already committed to perform for the next Further Future event, alongside a set of wellness workshops, wherein the neurological benefits of hugging was one of the first year's most popular topics, art by HYBYCOZO and other innovative creatives, and talks by tech heavyweights, such as SoundCloud CEO Alex Ljung and Evernote CEO Phil Libin gracing the prior guest speaker list. With such levels of guests, the event may very well likely become the intimate, bespoke festival experience of the future.

Organizers know the attendees' and travelers' expected indulgence. Boutique camping options at Further Future start at $850 and scale up to $5,000 for an Airstream trailer with concierge service and $7,500 for the chance to stay in an air-conditioned, custom-built dome that sleeps four. And the amenities don't stop there. In the 2015 event, attendees could partake in gourmet pop-up dinners, mint tea served from samovars and holistic spa treatments.

The centerpiece of the festival is the famed Robot Heart bus sound system, with other stages featuring DJs, speakers and dancing.
