The news of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedding was first reported by the Associated Press. A spokesman for the couple reportedly revealed to the news outlet that Hollywood's golden couple have married in France on Aug. 23.

People reports that the couple's wedding was held Saturday morning at Château Miraval in the village of Coren, which was also the place where they first settled in 2008.

They have also done wide-ranging renovations on their estate "Nice" located there. "Nice" has reportedly been considered by the couple as a second home, since they also own a seaside mansion there which they bought several years ago.

wine-growing estate, "Nice" has a 35-room main house, an ancient chapel and a working vineyard which is spread over 1,100 acres.

Before news of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedding, the couple has been engaged for two years. In 2012, 39-year-old Angelina first showed off the custom sparkler that 50-year-old Brad designed for her.

According to the AP, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedding ceremony was held privately in a small chapel surrounded by family and friends. The Hollywood Life reports that the couple has also recently obtained a marriage license from a California judge, who was also the one to conduct the ceremony.

In true Brangelina fashion, many details of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedding have been kept private. However, it is known that naturally, the pair's children - Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and 6-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne - would play a major part in the ceremony.

Maddox and Pax, the couple's eldest sons, accompanied Angelina as she walked down the aisle. Meanwhile, Zahara and Vivienne threw petals, while Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers in Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedding, the spokesman told the AP.

The couple first officially met, and fell in love, on the set of their film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" in 2005. They have been together since 2006. On the same year, Angelina revealed she was pregnant with Brad's first child, Shiloh. In 2008, twins, Knox and Vivienne, were added to the family.

They have been engaged since 2012. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedding announcements were made April of that year.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedding plans have been hinted by Jolie when she spoke to PEOPLE in May. It was to be a low-key, kid-centric marriage. According to The Independent, the beautiful actress also joked about how much their kids wanted the nuptials to be unconventional.

She said, "We will get married, and we're not in a rush. We're just waiting for it to be the right time with the kids, with work, when it feels right. We talk about it occasionally, and the kids talk about it with us."

She added, "We all kind of think about how we imagine it or what it might be. So we've started to do that but we haven't made any definite plans. But we are discussing it with the children and how they imagine it might be."

"Which is verging on hysterical, how kids envision a wedding. They will in a way be the wedding planners. It's going to be Disney or paintball - one or the other! We've got a lot of different personalities in the house. They've got some strong opinions. It will be fun. That's the important thing. When we do it, it will feel like a great day for our family," the actress said.

Jolie also mentioned her now husband's support during the time she had a double mastectomy in 2013, and the ensuing months involving the recovery.

She said, "We've been through so much. We've gotten a lot closer, which I think naturally happens with raising a family together."

According to The Independent, Angelina has topped Forbes' list as Hollywood's highest paid actresses in 2013.

This year has proven to be a big year for the couple. Apart from the recent Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedding, both Hollywood stars will be busy for their upcoming films.

According to People, Brad will be busy filming his upcoming WWII drama "Fury", while Angelina will be directing her own upcoming WWII drama named "Unbroken."

How do they keep the fire burning after all these years? Angelina said that while they are on opposite sides of the world shooting, they make it a point to write love letters to stay connected.

She said, "We decided to be of that time, when we could imagine he was in the European theater and I was in the Pacific theater, and we wrote handwritten letters to each other that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months, if not years, at a time back then."

In addition to each having their own projects, the couple is also set to shoot in Gozo, Malta for an intimate, character-driven drama called "By the Sea." Starring as husband and wife in the love story, the film is the couple's first film since "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."

Could Gozo, Malta be where their honeymoon is to take place? There's a high chance that this could happen, what with the couple's busy schedules.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedding doesn't have any photos yet, but they are reportedly expected to publish the images exclusively with People magazine.
