It's similar to regular tourism, except in this way the tourists can learn more about the cultures and people of the places they are visiting. Portland, Oregon

The most populous city in Oregon is filled to the brim with a unique atmosphere and local artists. Places like The Compound, Disjecta, and the Museum of Contemporary Craft house plenty of live performance pieces and original art found only in the area. If you prefer to experience nature in person the city has fountain parks, Japanese gardens, and waterfront walkways that have yearly performances and festivals.

Rajasthan, India

Even having a desert in the state does not stop it from having a rich cultural background. Magnificent palaces and forts are abound here to visit. Local folk songs and music give visitors a look at what it's like to live in this western state.

Trafalgar Square, London

Commemorating a naval victory against France and Spain in the Napoleonic Wars the plaza is now a large tourist destination. The square has the National Gallery, home to over 2,300 paintings, statues celebrating famous generals or other art pieces, and a nearby rooftop restaurant that can allow its patrons to view the city from up high.

Còrdoba, Andalusia

Near Northern Spain, this city was the capital for an Islamic caliphate in the Middle Ages, as well as a Roman city in ancient times. This city was home to ancient poets, rulers, engineers, and more. Its history almost pours out of the buildings and monuments left behind, from the Mezquita-Caterdal to the Renaissance palaces.

Salzburg, Austria

With nicknames like the Golden City of High Baroque, Florence of the North, and the German Rome, it needs little introduction. The city is also famous for being the birthplace of one Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The city holds a yearly festival in his honor, where famous musicians come to perform his pieces.
