‘Homeland’ Season 7 Update: Season 6 Finale Ended On A Sad Note Will Series Returns For Season 7?

Apr 19, 2017 10:01 AM EDT

"Homeland" season finale broke the hearts of its avid fans when one of its characters faced death at the end. However, despite season 6 finale, fans are still hoping for "Homeland" season 7 to continue.

Basically, the series made a sad ending. It featured Carrie who tries to find her place in this world as her long-time partner, Peter Quinn faced demise. Quinn became a hero when he rescued Keane and Carrie from an array of bullets, The Zimbabwe Mail reported.

Meanwhile, the season 6 finale left viewers the hint that a civil war might happen between the White House and the US Intelligence Community. One of the possible causes cited was the assassination of the female president Elizabeth Keane, Saul and other CIA officers.

Cartermatt also reported that how season 6 ended opens up the possibility for season 7. The finale featured Carrie looking towards the Capitol Building. Right on that episode, she solemnly recalled that she was previously removed from that office after the president cut the ties among those people who helped her during the Oval Office transition. Further, what Carrie did is an assumption that she is looking for hope that she will become one of the political contenders one day.

On the other hand, the network just released a promo which confirmed that "Homeland" season 7 will continue. The next season will star Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin as Carrie and Saul. However, the network has not yet revealed the official return date for season 7. Most probably, it will be premiere on fall just like the other five seasons.

The series co-executive producer Howard Gordon explained that they only have few months left before the fall premiere and it seems like "Homeland" season 7 will air in January 2018. Meanwhile, no further details were revealed yet, however, the production is already working on some big ideas for the next season.
