'Tangled' Series To Premiere on March in Disney Channel

Feb 02, 2017 04:50 AM EST

Fans of the princess Rapunzel should be happy to hear this news. A TV series based on the movie "Tangled" is set to air on Disney Channel starting March 24. But before the series, a TV movie will first air to introduce the plot line and more interesting new characters to the world of Rapunzel.

The new series will be entitled "Tangled: Before Ever After." It will be set between the end of the movie and the short film "Tangled: Ever After" where Rapunzel and Eugene got married.

The voices for the two main stars will be back to reprise their roles. Orlando Sentinel reports that singer Mandy Moore will be back to voice Rapunzel and she will be joined by Zachary Levi.

The Mary Sue reports that the plot for the new series centers on Rapunzel's adventures as she deals with being a princess. Fans of the story and the movie will know that all her life she has been sheltered in the tower, not knowing that she was the lost princess. She also needs to deal with her overprotective father, which may be understandable given that he had lost his daughter for so many years.

Rapunzel will also need to make a choice on whether she would marry Eugene soon. Apparently, he wants to get married as soon as possible, but the princess does not share that desire.

With her new friend Cassandra, a lady-in-waiting for Rapunzel who also shares the same adventures with her, the princess will embark on a secret adventure. One thing that fans should look forward to is that during her journey, Rapunzel encounters something that will make her hair, which had been cut off and had turned brown, to grow long and blonde again.

Does this mean that the power to heal is back? Are you excited to see where Rapunzel's adventures will take her? Share your thoughts and comments below.
