Opens New Island Retreat in The Bahamas

Disney Cruise Line is set to open Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, a new island destination in Eleuthera, The Bahamas, in June 2024. This announcement invites fans and future guests to explore the vibrant culture, beautiful scenery, and unique experiences that will be available.

Joey Gaskins, a member of the Disney Cruise Line team in The Bahamas, shares insights into what makes Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point special. Located just a short flight from Nassau, this new destination is designed to immerse visitors in the rich Bahamian culture through its architecture, activities, and the natural beauty of Eleuthera.

As shared by Cruise and Ferry, one of the first things guests will notice as they arrive are the Mabrika Cove Cabanas. These cabanas, designed with vibrant colors and patterns by a Bahamian artist, offer a place for families to relax by the turquoise waters. The architecture throughout the island, inspired by colorful seashells, provides a setting for enjoying meals at places like True-True Too BBQ, where guests can savor local flavors under a shell-inspired pavilion.

Disney Cruise Line's commitment to showcasing Bahamian culture extends beyond the design. The island features art inspired by local flora and fauna, and activities that celebrate traditions such as Junkanoo, a Bahamian festival. Guests will have the chance to engage with the culture through music, dance, and art, including experiencing Junior Junkanoo, a competition that showcases the creativity and spirit of Bahamian youth.
