Good news for console players as the open world action-adventure game, "Ark: Survival Evolved" will have free downloadable contents for PS4 and Xbox One users. The update will feature tons of add-ons including new creatures, player customization and many more. The additional content will be available for download in PlayStation Store and Xbox Store.

For those who are not familiar with the game, it is a survival game where players are stranded on an island called Ark. The goal is to survive the harsh elements and creatures in the island that took the form of pre-historic animals which players can either tame or kill them. Players can set up defenses and bases to protect themselves. A multiplayer mode is also available where participants can either cooperate or attack other players.

According to Video Gamer, update v255 will introduce a new set of prehistoric animals such as Electrophorus Beluadomito. It is a species of a Knifefish that uses electrical charges as a form of self- defense and the creature can be tamed to hunt down other aquatic animals. Microraptor Gnarilongus, on the other hand, is an aggressive predator that can be tamed to carry riders for traveling and combat.

The Ammonitina Multiamicus is another marine animal that hugely resembles a Nautilus but significantly bigger. Hunting one will be difficult because for some reasons other animals tend to defend it. However, the trouble is worth the price as the shell and the bile are rare and valuable items. The marsupial lion called Thylacoleo Furtimorsus is also included as an additional creature.

Aside from new creatures, the update also brought heaps of player customization options including new hair styles and beards as reported by VG247. For base upgrades, TEK building structures are introduced in the new content. Players will now be able to make TEK Forcefield and TEK Auto doors that can be customized.

The latest content update for "Ark: Survival Evolved" is now available for download. Hopefully, Studio Wildcard will continue to provide players free upgrades in the future.
