In the past years of the phone industry, smaller and compact gadgets were the most sought in the market. However, with the introduction of smartphones the industry turned to bigger devices and larger screen size. This time around, the biggest technological companies are going back to the roots with smaller phones but maximizing the screen sizes like the "LG G6."

Another Korean conglomerate apparently got ahead of its competitors including the Korean-based Samsung with its latest smart phone, "LG G6." The device was first announced during the Mobile World Congress 2017 held in Barcelona, Spain as reported by PC Advisor. The phone boasts an amazing compact big screen at 5.7 inches but significantly smaller than others with 5.5-inch displays.

The phone sports a glass and metal design with smaller bevels and round corners for easier one hand use. It is IP68 waterproof which means that the device can be immersed in water for up to 1.5 meters and not receiving any permanent damage. LG has finally caught up with Samsung's Galaxy S7 that carries the same IP rating.

G6 will be available for three color selection with Ice Platinum that appears as silvery blue together with Astor Black and Mystic White options. The software of the new smart phone will have a modified version of the Android Nougat. G6 will also have a 4 GB RAM with 32 GB or 64 GB (Region Dependent) internal storage and Micro SD card slot that can support of up to 2 TB.

According to BRG, Samsung seemed threatened because of the outstanding sales of the LG G6 since its release last Friday. LG has already sold 30,000 units since the weekend with another 82,000 units on pre-orders. Samsung is taking preventive actions against their competitor as they released a brand-new teaser for the "Galaxy S8" units. The digits that LG is producing is higher than two times the sales achieved by Samsung's "S7 Edge" even before the exploding battery controversies.

Samsung's flagship smart phone will not be making any appearance on the market for another two weeks. Hopefully, Samsung already learned their lesson and we can expect a defect free release from them. LG G6 is already out in Korea while US and UK release will be on the first week of April.
