Variety reports that Sawa will be playing the role of Nico Jackson, who was a former cop turned investigator. Other characters include the father of the kidnapped child, who is harboring a dark secret of his own, plus a con artist helping the investigator. It is unknown it the adaptation will follow strictly the plot of the original.

Deadline reports that the series is produced by Thunderbird Entertainment along with ITBV Studios America. The executive producers are Stephen Tolkin, Ivan Fecana and Joseph Broido.

While no other cast members have been announced, such as who will play the daughter and the younger brother, it is reported that the shooting will begin by March of this year. It will reportedly air in June 2017.
