Fans of the series "Victoria" will be glad to know that the new season is finally underway. Based on the official Twitter account of the show, the cast has returned to the set and is happily filming for season 2.

The series details the life of Queen Victoria in the first years of her reign. Jenna Coleman, known for her as Clara Oswald in "Dr. Who," and Jasmine Thomas in "Emmerdale" plays the role of the queen. There were eight episodes for season 1 which began airing in September 2016.

Express UK reports that the photos uploaded to the official Twitter account of the series did not include the lead actress, as it is believed that she just attended the BAFTA. The photo shows what seems to be the throne room of Queen Victoria.

Radio Times reports that season 2 of "Victoria" will most likely take place around the 1840s. Season 1 of "Victoria" focused on the princess ascending to the throne after the death of her uncle. The first episode showed her creating a scandal about her mother's lady-in-waiting, only to regret it later in the episode when the lady was forced to take a medical examination. The examination showed that the person she spread the scandal about was actually dying from a tumor.

Other important events that happened in the first season is Victoria's marriage to Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. She also gets pregnant with her first child, but is very afraid that she will die in childbirth like her cousin. She was even threatened by her uncle and survived an attempted assassination by Edward Oxford.

"Victoria" ended its first season with the Queen giving birth to her first child, also named Victoria. Her fears proved to be unfounded as there were no complications during her labor and childbirth.
