The drama sitcom starring America Ferrera has been renewed for season 3. Season 2 still has two more episodes to air, but NBC seems to have enough confidence in the show to announce the early renewal.

Cinema Blend reports that despite not being the highest-rated show on the network, NBC has ordered 22 episodes for season 3 of the show. Even though "Superstore" cannot be compared to "This is Us" when it comes to ratings, NBC seems to want to add more comedies to its 2017-2018 lineup.

In its season 2, the show has been garnering a 1.2 average in rating in the 18-49 demographics. Variety reports that it is also NBC's top series on Hulu.

The series is about a group of employees in Cloud 9. The series star is America Ferrera who plays Amy Dubanowski. She is joined by Ben Feldman who plays Jonah Simms and more. In the latest episode of "Superstore," entitled "Valentine's Day", viewers saw the antics of Glenn and Amy, who wanted to be matchmakers.

Amy asks for Glenn's help to set up Myrtle and Arthur. But things backfire on them after Arthur says sexual harassment remarks to Myrtle. Also in the episode is Jonah who goes undercover to confirm that a customer has been shoplifting. But later in the episode she actually asks the woman out on a date. Viewers may be disappointed that Amy and Jonah are still not getting together in the show, despite the many fans shipping for a romance between the two.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne becomes a door greeter while Sandra shows off to everyone the gifts she received for Valentine's Day.The next episode of "Superstore", which is created and written by Justin Spitzer will be on Feb. 16. While no spoilers have been reported yet, the episode will be titled "Super Hot Store."
