Even though the season 2 of the show has not yet finished, Fox has renewed the show "Lucifer" for season 3, joining series "Empire." They are the only two drama shows to get an early pick up for the next season.

TV Line reports that David Madden, Fox Broadcasting entertainment chief has this to say about the show, " Lucifer is one of those rare shows that starts strong out of the gate, and just keeps getting better and better." He continues not only the cast but the production team as well, saying they are the best in the business.

The drama stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, who has left Hell and now works as a police liaison. While he has shown superhuman abilities such as strength and speed, Detective Chloe Decker, played by Lauren German, is immune to all these.

Season 2 of "Lucifer" has brought consistent and steady ratings, wit a total of 4.4 million views. In its latest episode, aired last Jan. 30, Lucifer does everything to get the antidote for the poison that Chloe had.

Titled "A Good Day to Die," the episode featured Lucifer returning to Hell to have access to Carlisle's soul, as he is the only one who knows the formula to the antidote. After many struggles, including facing an illusion of Uriel, he finally escapes from Hell and gets the antidote safely to Chloe, who fully recovers. The episode ends however with Lucifer nowhere to be found.

Fans will have to wait until May to find out what happened to Lucifer. Meanwhile, Warner Bros, who produced the show, is currently being sued by the composers of the theme song for the show. Comic Book reports that the company has exploited the song and there is no agreement between Warner Bros and brothers Robert and Aron Marderosian.
