Yuba City human remains were found Monday in the backyard of a newly-moved in residents. According to police, and with the help of anthropologists, the Yuba City human remains may likely be the product of a religious tradition.

On Monday evening, Yuba City police were called out to a Nadean Drive home as the home's dog reportedly unearthed a pot which eerily contained what appeared to be the Yuba City human remains.

According to CBS Local, along with the Yuba City human remains, other artifacts were also found in the home off of Nadean Drive, including doll fragments and other unusual objects.

As it were, Yuba City authorities are apparently not than concerned about the Yuba City human remains which includes a human skull found in the backyard of a home this week.

The people who lived at the home and called the Yuba City police has reportedly just moved in. According to reports, if it wasn't for their dog, they wouldn't have found the Yuba City remains in their backyard.

Nathaniel Oberman's husky named Sky was the dog who dug up a ceramic pot with turned out to have contained the Yuba City human remains. Oberman said, 'She was digging at this for like three weeks. She wouldn't leave this spot be."

Oberman and his roommates reportedly moved into the home just three weeks ago. Oberman said that at first, Sky only found the head of a doll which appeared to be the porcelain doll sitting in a chair. However, further digging produced a human skull.

Oberman further told the story of their dog digging up the Yuba City human remains, 'There was machetes wrapped up in it, some other stuff like coyote skulls stuff like that. There were some coins in it as the pot broke apart you could actually see the skull at the bottom.'

Oberman added that the discovery of the Yuba City human remains made him call police. As it were, officers were also baffled by the discovery.

Authorities called in anthropologists and other experts at the California State University Chico to help identify the origin of the Yuba City human remains. The anthropologists eventually came to the yard where and studied the remains. They concluded that the Yuba City human remains were possibly utilized in Afro-Caribbean religious traditions called Santeria and Palo Mayonbe.

Still, the question of why the Yuba City human remains were left in the yard. Also another big question is who left them and whose remains they were.

According to CBS Local, it may never be answered as the religion itself is very secretive.

Yuba City human remains, meanwhile, are still being investigated and authorities are still trying to find out its age and origin.
