Wayne Knight is dead. At least that's what the Internet is saying. However the "Seinfeld" actor didn't die in an accident. Newman very much alive and well.

Rumors started spreading around social media that Knight died in a tractor trailer accident. Sources like eBuzzd, TMZ Today and US Magazine all seem to have very detailed reports on the accident which killed Knight.

The story on eBuzzd reads "Actor Wayne Knight, better known to most for playing one of the most indelible roles on NBC's "Seinfeld" as the charater "Newman" is dead and two other passengers are critically injured after their vehicle slammed into a disabled semi-tractor-trailer late Saturday night along Route 446 near the Pennsylvania-New York state border in Eldred Township.

Kane-based state police have identified the deceased as the lovable "Newman." McKean County Coroner Jeff Levin said Knight died of blunt force trauma at the scene. Also injured in the crash were two of Knight's passengers, Christopher Davidson, 33, and an unidentified male, both of New York state. Police say the unidentified male was ejected from the back seat of the sedan."

None of these sites with this report are valid. The US Magazine and TMZ sites with the story aren't the actual sites. The real US Magazine and TMZ sites make no mention of Knight's death because it didn't happen. As for eBuzzd, the site description itself admits that nothing on the site is real. It says "eBuzzd.com is a website that publishes fake news and satire stories. A site like eBuzzd is not a site about hoaxes, rather the eBuzzd site is itself a hoax. Truth is, if you find stories on eBuzzd shocking or even real at all, then you should log off the Internet and go for a run. Basically, don't take anything serious on eBuzzd!"

The details from the report seem to be stolen from a real report about a woman who died in a car crash found here.

If that wasn't enough proof, Wayne Knight himself heard about the hoax and took to Twitter to let his fans know that he's okay. "Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but....I am alive and well! Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez! Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn't know you cared. Glad to be breathing!" he said.

However not everyone is aware that the reports are a hoax. Some fans took to Twitter to mourn the loss of Newman. Some examples of tweets include:

"Oh no! Newman (Wayne Knight), from the show Seinfeld, died in a terrible car crash last night! :("

"Wayne Knight died. He played Newman in Seinfeld. I'm so sad hearing that."

"If Wayne Knight actually died I'm gonna be real sad"

"RIP Wayne Knight aka Newman. We loved you brah."
