There are a myriad of articles around the net supposing help for travellers with regard to the perfect time of booking tickets, but a new study suggests when the best time to book plane tickets is.

The best time of Booking Plane Tickets and determining the number of days before a flight when tickets are at their lowest is confirmed through a scientific study.

The new study suggests that the best time to book plane tickets is fifty-four days before takeoff. This is because on average, this is the time when domestic airline tickets are at their absolute lowest price. For those reading this now who are planning to book a ticket and found the 54-day interval over, you can still, you can still book between 104 to 29 days before your trip. These days are termed as the "prime booking window" where ticket prices linger within $10 of the lowest price they'll ever reach, according to a 2013 data.

CheapAir professionals came up with the study by spending the last year analyzing over four million airline trips. They have tracked ticket prices from 320 days before takeoff up to the day before, whilst calculating in detail which day each one hit its lowest point.

If you're still using the old technique of booking at the last minute, stop that right now. According to all present data, that technique is 100 percent false and not to any traveller's advantage and should not be followed.

Researchers even found that, on average, a ticket was at its highest price  the day before the flight. "The second-highest price was two days before the flight, the third-highest was three days before... and so on, all the way to 13 days before the flight."

In all ticket booking however, a flight's "best price" window is dependent upon a traveller's specific trip. The researchers explain that when there's constant demand for a flight, airlines have no cannot be reasoned to lower ticket prices.
