A group on Facebook have decided to take matters into their own hands and do NEKNomination with a twist!

RAKNomination, which stands for Random Act of Kindness, want to harness the power of NEKNomination and point it towards a good cause.  They're looking for young people to scrap NEKNomination and take up RAKNomination instead.

They're challenging people to record themselves carrying out an RAK and then nominate their friends to do the same thing within 24 hours.  People have already been spreading the NEKNomination alternative through the streets and social media, with acts like buying food and coffee for the homeless.

A girl named Ellie has put a video of herself on the facebook page hiding a £5 gift voucher inside a tin of baby milk for a mother to find and an unnamed man from South Africa giving footballs to children in the street.  The page urges young people to do these kind of acts, however big or small they are.

Personally, I think this is a wonderful alternative to doing silly drunken pranks which could end up with people getting hurt and has already resulted in many deaths.

I personally think this is a wonderful idea and I'd encourage anyone to take part.

So what are you waiting for, dear reader? Get involved!

The facebook page is here.  Let me know if you get up to any RAKNominations in the comments!
