Country music singer Trace Adkins has checked into rehab after he had a fight with a Trace Adkins impersonator on a cruise ship.

The 52-year-old country star was headlining a seven-day country music cruise for Norwegian Cruise Lines  last week. However sailing wasn't going smoothly when the singer got into a physical fight with someone who was impersonating him during a karaoke contest.

According to TMZ, Adkins was in a bar on the ship on Monday when he heard the Trace Adkins impersonator singing karaoke to one of his songs. It isn't clear what happened, but a fight broke out between the two.

One of Adkins representatives told ABC that after the ship docked in Jamaica, Adkins left the ship and went off to rehab for alcohol abuse shortly after.
"As he faces these issues head-on, we ask that his family's privacy will be respected," the rep told ABC.

The news of Adkins heading back to rehab is a big deal as he had been sober for the past 12 years. He was last in rehab in 2002. Adkins seemed to be doing well. The Grammy-nominated singer just hosted the American Country Awards on FOX with NASCAR driver Danica Patrick in December.

Adkins took to Twitter during the cruise on the first day on Sunday, ironically saying "Up here in my suite, overlooking the pools. Behave yourselves."

Adkins was the headline for the country-themed cruise along with Montgomery Gentry and Wynonna Judd. The cruise is set to make stops in Grand Cayman, Mexico and Jamaica. It will continue on without Adkins even though he's the headliner.  It is not clear if Norwegian will offer any sort of discount.
