A Delta Air Lines jet slid off of a snowy taxiway at Dane County Regional Airport in Wisconsin on Monday afternoon. No one was hurt in the incident.

According to airport spokeswoman Kim Jones who spoke to The Associated Press, Flight 385 was taxiing when it left the pavement of the runway and slid into the show at around 4 p.m. The Boeing 737-800 was carrying around 60 passengers and six crew members at the time.

The flight had left from Minneapolis/St. Paul before arriving in Wisconsin.

The incident impacted other flights as the airport had to halt flight operations for about an hour so the work crews could clear another runway at the airport. The passengers on the Delta flight were taken into the terminal by airport workers.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, this accident occurred as "a fast-moving storm dumped nearly three inches of snow on the Madison area and created an icy transportation nightmare."

Fire crews from the Madison Fire Department arrived but no one was injured. Despite the scary-sounding ordeal, passengers said the incident was not as big as it seemed. They claimed that the plane seemed to land normally, but then it felt like it started to slide before it missed a turn.

"It just kept going straight," passenger Kevin Fearon told the Wisconsin State Journal. "You felt that it was skidding."

"Just like a car when you can't stop," Denise Penn, another Flight 385 passenger, added "That was it - it was really a non-event."

"We could not stop on the end of the runway there by alpha six and we have exited the prepared surface just at the end of the runway off to the right towards alpha six," the pilot reported to the control tower. "It would appear that we are all the way off the runway into the snow-covered tundra."

The passengers were given a $100 voucher by Delta for the trouble.
