A tourist survived a Victoria Falls plunge recently. The Chinese man was taking pictures when he  fell into a gorge at the famous attraction in Zambia. He managed to live and escaped with only a few cruises.

The tourist, Wang Shun Xue, plunged into a shallow area of the gorge, but he survived with only minor injuries according to John Zulu, manager of the National Heritage Conservation Commission in Livingstone who spoke to AFP.

"The depth of the gorge is 25 metres (49 feet) but where he fell from, it's about
15 metres (25 feet) because some places there are slopes," Zulu said.

The tourist fell on a rock and received some bruises on his arm according to Zulu."He looked shocked because of the accident," he added.

The 45-year-old man was taken to a local clinic for a medical check. He was released and Xue and his three friends flew out of the country.

Xue was lucky that he didn't fall at a deeper point. The Victoria Fall, a sheet of falling water, plunges as much as 354 feet of 108 metres at its deepest point. The Victoria Falls is a popular tourist attraction. It is located on the Zambezi River on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe is Africa.
