What happens when you get your luggage returned after the airline loses it? Well sometimes you wind up with someone else's dirty laundry. That's what happened to a Delta Airlines passenger recently.

Meaghan McCord, a jewelry designer in Atlanta, says she's disgusted over what she found in her luggage. The woman was traveling to New York City so show clients her jewelry however when she landed, the airline couldn't find her checked luggage.

She eventually got the bag back at her home in Atlanta about 23 days later, however she was very unhappy with what she found. The jewelry was missing, which may have been expected. But she also found items that didn't belong to her, including dirty lingerie.

"I'm like that's not mine, that is not mine. None of this is mine. None of this is mine! Oh, and what's in this bag? Oh, it's someone's dirty panties," McCord told WSB.

"I'd never wear those shoes. Are you serious? McCord said. "I swear, they traded my stuff with a prostitute's stuff."

Out of the clothing that did belong to her, McCord claims that someone had gone through it and tried items on.

"When you take off tight jeans, they turn inside out, so it was like somebody had gone through and sifted through what they wanted and put everything back that didn't fit them," McCord told WSB.

McCord says Delta gave her several reasons for why her luggage never made it to New York.

"At first they told me the bag was on its way, then there's car trouble, then the truck's stolen," she told WSB. McCord claims she told the NYPD about the stolen truck, but the police department couldn't find any records of a luggage truck being stolen.

She says Delta sent her a $3,400 check, but when she tried to cash it, it bounced back and had been cancelled. Delta said it would reissue the check.

Delta says, "In addition to the settlement check, we have also offered the customer a travel voucher for the miscommunication. We are sorry for this customer's experience and look forward to the opportunity to serve her again."
