The death of Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, left the country in mourning. It was first thought of as a suicide but now her boyfriend, Suraj Pancholi has been arrested on suspicion of abetting her suicide, reports The Times of India.

Authorities say that Pancholi was not present when Khan hung herself at her Mumbai home last week however Khan's mother accused Pancholi of abusing her daughter after Khan's suicide note detailed an unidentified person as "ruining her life."

The note was found by Khan's family in her handbag and said that she had been raped and abused and was forced to have an abortion. Pancholi was reportedly the past person to speak to Khan before her death, reported E! News.

The 25-year-old actress lived in the Juhu neighborhood and her body was found hanged in her room by her mother.

Khan whose real name is Nafisa Khan, was born in New York and lived in London before she moved to Mumbai and found fame in an umber of popular Bollywood movied including "Nishabd" in 2007.

The Bollywood community shared their sadness via social media outlets like twitter.

"Just cant believe that someone as young and so full of life is just dead," filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma tweeted.  Varma was Khan's director in the movie Nishabd. She played the female lead in the movie and it was her debut performance.

"Never ever seen a debutant actress with more spunk and more spirit than Jiah when I was directing her in Nishabd," he continued. 'I don't know the reason what led to this but jiah was very depressed about her career and scared for her future."

Khan also found supporting roles in movies such as "Ghajini" in 2008  and Housefull" in 2010 which was her last film.

Actress Dia Mirza also tweeted that Khan was "too young and beautiful" to go while filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan added,

"Can't register that Jiah is now more. Worked with her in Housefull and she was so beautiful and such a good soul. Too young to go Jiah."
