Ted Dwane, Mumford & Sons bassist has been taken to the hospital on Monday after doctor's discovered that he had a blood clot on the surface of his brain.

The popular group that won a host of grammys this year wrote on their website that Ted had been, "feeling unwell for days" and that he went into the hospital for treatment and was sent into surgery after doctors discovered the clot.

"Ted is receiving excellent care, and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery," they said on their website.

CNN reported that the band has rescheduled three performance that were planned this week. "We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour," the band said. "We're all wishing Ted a speedy recovery."

"Sadly we have to postpone three upcoming headline shows planned for this week in Dallas on Tuesday 6/11, Woodlands on Wednesday 6/12, and New Orleans on Thursday 6/13. All dates will be rescheduled and will be announced as soon as we can; all tickets for this week's events will be honoured at their rescheduled dates. We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour," they added.

Mumford and Sons is a British band that had a quick rise to fame from the indie scene. One of the band's member's  Ben Lovett expressed his happiness about what the band is doing on their official website. "We wanted to do something unashamed," said Lovett. "We're confident and happy to be where we are as a band - everything that's happened with us has exceeded expectations, and it's all been a surprise, it's all much bigger than what we were prepared for. So when we came to recording this record we had a choice: to shy away from that, or to realise that people dig what we're doing, and make something robust, with that energy."
