A 54-year-old man built a 12-meter long pirate ship and has sold it on Craigslist for $80,000. CNN reported that Tim Woodson built Gysey Rose II which is just one of six pirate ships that he has built over the years.

CNN reported that the History Channel has purchased the boat after seeing it on Craigslist for $80,000. The boat is located in the Mississippi River. Woodson who lives in St. Louis, Missouri said to CNN, "It's probably the most photographed ship on the Mississippi River. We get a lot of kids running along the shore, trying to catch the cannonballs as we go by."

Woodson is a professional boat builder and he started making pirate ships five years ago by converting house boats into the large-scale ships.

"I wanted to find an old boat that I could transform into something really cool," said Woodson to CNN."My girlfriend asked: 'What are you going to do?' I don't know where it came from, but I said: 'I'm going to build a pirate ship.'"

He has added fake masts and even added planks and a skeleton wearing an eye patch.

"As you walk on board you see a skeleton wearing an eye patch -- that's the old captain we pillaged the boat from," said Woodson to CNN. "The sails are all torn with cannonball holes," he added. "Inside, the first thing you see is a hand-drawn map, globe of the world, and an old desk covered in treasure."

The inside of the ship howeve, is modern and Gypsy Rose II has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and can fit around 30 people.

"It really is a modern-day pirate ship with 1600s treasures scattered throughout," he said to CNN.

"When I was a kid, pirates were cool and that hasn't changed," Woodson added. "It's about that feeling of being free, of being an explorer. It gives you an excuse to be the bad boy."
