A life-size Barbie Dreamhouse is set to open in Berlin, Germany on May 16th.

The popular Barbie The Dreamhouse Experience already opened in Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Florida and is an interactive installation of 10,000 square feet. The Barbie Dream House in Berlin will be a walk-in replica of Barbie's Malibu mansion and designed so fans can immerse themselves in the blonde haired dolls world.

"Visitors are not just passive admirers of the individual rooms, but are encouraged to explore the surroundings and fully immerse themselves in the life-size and above all interactive BarbieTM world."
says Barbie Dreamhouse's website. "In addition to over 350 BarbieTM dolls and other BarbieTM memorabilia spread throughout the Dreamhouse®, a number of thrilling, interactive and unexpected activities await: the chance to try on the style icon's hip outfits using a digital mirror in her walk-in wardrobe for example, or concocting a virtual cupcake in the BarbieTM Dreamhouse® kitchen!"

For 15 euros ($19.50) per adult and 12 euros ($15.50) per child, visitors can tour her living room, pretend to bake in her kitchen and walk through her closets.

Some people aren't so happy about the Barbie Dreamhouse making its way to Berlin and plan on protesting the opening.

"They present an image of cooking, primping and singing as if it were in some way life-fulfilling," activist Michael Koschitzki, 27, told Der Spiegel. "The Barbie Dreamhouse is the expression of a conventional role model that isn't OK."

"Our protest isn't directed against parents who visit the Barbie House or against children who play with Barbies (although a real woman with Barbie's figure would be anorexic, wouldn't be able to walk, and would never get her period.)," explained the Occupy Barbie Dreamhouse Facebook page. "We're protesting the image of women that the Barbie Dreamhouse perpetuates."

Barbie manufacturer Mattel doesn't seem concerned."Barbie has again become a tool for some to advance their own agenda," a spokeswoman for the company's German division said to the AFP.

Thomas Ludicke who is the Managaing Director of EMS Entertainment Germany said on the Barbie Dreamhouse's website that "The building of the life-size BarbieTM The Dreamhouse Experience TM takes time and a lot of attention to detail," and that "We want to ensure that BarbieTM The Dreamhouse ExperienceTM is a thoroughly unforgettable experience. In order for the BarbieTM fans to enjoy the interactive event with all the areas, details and attractions, we decided to push the opening date back to May 16th."
