Founder of Virgin Group, Richard Branson made an in-flight appearance dressed as a flight attendant in drag. USA Today reported that the tycoon served drinks on a flight from Australia to Malaysia this past weekend because he lost a bet.

Reportedly, Branson lost a 2010 Formula One auto-racing bet to AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes. Because of the bet loss, he got dressed in Air Asia's red suit jacket and skirt, put on red lipstick and shaved his legs before serving passengers on a six-hour AirAsia flight from Perth to Kuala Lumpur.

The bet was made in 2010 about whose auto-racing team would do better that year in the Formula One standings.

Fernandes said to USA Today about Branson's flight attendant skills that they were "rubbish" and added "Out of 10, maybe one, for a bit of humor."

"Fernandes also chided Branson after the British tycoon deliberately dumped a tray of orange juice on Fernandes' lap," reported USA Today.

Fernandes said, "He looked at me, I said, 'don't you dare,' and the next thing I know, he tipped the whole tray on me. He and the girls mopped it up, but I was walking around the flight in my underwear for a while because I didn't bring another pair of trousers."

"I wanted to kill him actually," Fernandes said to reporters in Malaysia after te flight.

Branson was cheerful on flight and the AP said he was "tasked with pouring beverages, serving meals and making flight announcements. (He) posed with Fernandes and popped champagne after stepping out of the plane at Malaysia's main low-cost carrier terminal south of Kuala Lumpur."

USA Today reported that Branson said he was happy to have gotten the bet over with and was looking forward to getting back into his clothes.

"I always wanted to be an air hostess, but it looks like I have to get back to normality," he said according to USA Today.
