Country music is a uniquely American music form, and for its fans, there are a few destinations that are must-sees. Looking at some top country artists that have been incredibly influential in the musical format, there is Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline and the places they grew up are among the top must-see sights.

The first must see destination is Nashville, Tennessee, otherwise known as the Country Music Capital of the World and "Music City." Nashville houses the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, as well as playing host to the annual four-day Country Music Association (CMA) Music Festival, as well as the Grand Ole Opry, which hosts live country music concerts and shows.

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has a two-story wall that contains every single gold and platinum country record visible for viewers to wonder at. There is also the solid gold Cadillac that belonged to Elvis Presley. Visitors can also take a tour of Studio B.

Lower Broadway is about a mile from the museum, and today it is the location of bars and venues playing live music. Ernest Tubb Record Shop is located in the area, which has a large collection of rare country music CD's, DVD's and books.

Another important country location is Dyess, Arkansas, where Johnny Cash lived with his family from the time he was three-years old. They lived on a 20-acre farm there. The town was designed to give people impacted by the Great Depression a new start. The house is currently under restoration to open as a museum in 2014.

Memphis is strongly associated with Elvis Presley and rock 'n' roll, but Elvis also was a popular country artist. He cut popular tracks such as "Blue Suede Shoes" that were country fused songs. Fans can tour Presley's mansion, Graceland, a 14-acre estate, which displays Presley's custom jet, collection of cars, personal videos, memorabilia and some performance costumes. Presley was eventually inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Winchester, Virginia is another location historically important to the country music genre. It is the hometown of singer Patsy Cline, of "Walkin' After Midnight" fame. Cline lived in the house with her mother and siblings until she was 21. The house was purchased by the non-profit organization Celebrating Patsy Cline, and the house is now open for tours. They can also visit the radio station where Cline began her music career, as well as the drugstore where she worked and the cemetery where she is buried.
