One of the biggest problems with vacations and traveling is figuring what to pack and how to fit everything into your suitcase. One of the most common issues is overpacking, and this causes lots of issues for travelers. Severe overpacking usually leads to extreme disorganization, not to mention that it is easy to lose items out of your suitcase at each destination. In addition to this, overpacking can lead to discomfort when traveling, which is the exact opposite of what most traveling is-- relaxation. When planning your next vacation or work trip, make sure to do your research to do the best packing possible.

Plan Ahead

The key to successfully packing a fashionable suitcase is to figure out how long your trip is and how many outfits that you need to have. Start off by making a list of how many days and nights that you will be away. Once you have done this, write down what days you will be doing anything special. If you're going on a business trip, what days are for leisure and which ones are you going to be working? If it's vacation, look at the forecast and see what weather you should be expecting. Write down the average temperature for each day and the weather and plan your outfits according to your list.

In addition to this, create a list of essential items. Divide it into two categories-- things that you can pack right now and those that have to wait to get packed the day of (like a toothbrush or hairbrush). This will help you decide what to pack in a neat and calm manner which will help eliminate any doubts and nerves that you may have.

Essentials First

Before you start to pack your clothes, gather everything necessary that you need to bring along with you on your trip. Put any make-up, travel size bath products, hygiene products, and accessories in a pile to be organized later. Add any electronics like laptops or chargers into your bag and if you have important business files, be sure to include them in your suitcase or an extra carry-along bag. You would hate to forget something as important as those. Be sure to include any IDs, passports, itineraries, and paperwork if necessary.

Bring Basics

Once you have gathered the essentials, you can start planning and organizing your outfits. First, set aside any necessary clothing items such as work blazers, pantsuits, or bathing suits if applicable. Once you have done this, figure out what basic clothing items that you can bring to be worn multiple times. Choose a sturdy pair of denim shorts, a skirt, and multiple plain tops that can be dressed up and down. Once you have done this, figure out what statement outfit pieces that you are bringing along and grab those, too.

Once you have gathered any necessary clothing items, start to figure out what accessories that you will be bringing. Be sure to pack statement pieces like bulky jewelry or these designer belts for women to spice up your outfits. Accessories take up a lot less space than clothes, so it is okay to overpack these as long as they are organized well.

Use Organization

Organization is the biggest factor when packing a suitcase well. Although most travelers usually just shove their suitcases closed, it has been proven that organization is the best way to save space when packing. If you are willing to make an investment,  packing organizers or dividers are the optimal forms of organization when packing a suitcase. Get enough to be able to be able to separate your tops, bottoms, toiletries, accessories, and shoes in their own bags, and your suitcase will soon fit together just like a puzzle! If you don't have access to packing containers, use small toiletry or Ziploc bags for any small items, then roll your clothes and stick them into rows in the biggest part of your suitcase. Packing a suitcase is like a game of Tetris, but it can be done well and incredibly successfully with the right tools.

Overall, the key to success when packing a fashionable suitcase is to plan ahead and strategize. Packing can be difficult, but with lots of thought and organization, it can also be incredibly satisfying!
