Even though it looks as though we may be turning a corner on the Covid-19 pandemic in the coming months, for some people that is still not soon enough. With restrictions eased in many parts of the country, vacationing and personal gatherings are beginning to come back, even if under certain restrictions and less frequent. One thing is for certain, there will be those who choose to take some time away with their families, while still following the health officials' guidelines and suggested safety measures.

Keep in mind that for all of the ideas presented in this article, you will need to research the local regulations regarding Covid protocol. If you travel to a city that is under heavy lockdown, you will most likely not get the experience that you are looking for. Cruises and other international travel could vary greatly from location to location. However, here are a few simple ways that you can enjoy a vacation with your family as soon as you want:

Staycations

If the city or town you reside in is fairly open and accessible, a simple stay-at-home vacation might be just what the doctor ordered. You could catch dinner and a movie or simply stay at a grand hotel for an evening or two. Sometimes all you need is room service, a Jacuzzi, and a balcony with a view overlooking mountains, an ocean, or some other beautiful scenery.

Camping

Camping is one of the best ways to get out of the house while still keeping your distance from those who aren't in your family. Getting out to the woods, mountains, desert, beach, or anywhere else that makes a good campsite is something that more and more people are doing. This type of vacation requires a few accessories and pieces of equipment, however. Rio has a bunch of products that you should pick up camping tables, chairs, coolers, food storage, and any other items you might need.

Rent an RV

This has been a favorite of many families for decades. Renting an RV and hitting the highways for a road trip has been a staple of the American vacation itinerary for many generations. But with all of the amenities such as shower and cooking facilities, sleeping and eating areas, and even entertainment, it allows families to travel without hotels. This is a great way to see new cities while avoiding quarantine issues or interacting too much with individuals from other households.

Rural or Mountain Cabins

This is another great way to get out and enjoy a nature-themed vacation. These types of cabins have a way of feeling warm, cozy, and inviting to visitors as no other guest housing can. And since many of them are modernized and have up to date entertainment and technology such as wifi, you don't have to feel disconnected when you stay there.

Take the Train

Trains have long been a great way to travel, even if they have been somewhat forgotten in the era of the airplane. But if you and your family like to see a lot of places and have the time to stop to explore a few, a train trip might be perfect for you. There is enough space to allow for proper distancing, and of course, you can reserve private cars for you and your family to stay in. You can experience comfort, privacy, and convenience while still traveling responsibly.
