Kellog's announced that they are recalling Specil K Red Berries cereal because boxes might be contaminated with glass fragments.

Kellog's website says, "Please check any packages you have in your home," Kellogg's website said. "If your package matches the information below, do not eat the food and contact us for a replacement coupon. We may also make arrangements to retrieve the food for further evaluation."

The recall is in effect on the following packages:

"*11.2 ounce packages, with a UPC Proof of Purchase Code: 38000 59923

  • Better if Used Before: DEC 02 2013 KNC 105 00:13 through DEC 02 2013 KNC 105 02:30

*37.0 ounce packages with a UPC Proof of Purchase Code: 38000 20940

  • Better if Used Before Date: NOV 30 2013 KNB 107 17:31 through NOV 30 2013 KNB 107 20:05

*22.4 ounce twin pack with a UPC Proof of Purchase Code: 38000 78356

  • Better if Used Before Date: Nov 30 2013 KNA 105 07:00 through NOV 30 2013 KNA 105 08:51
  • Better if Used Before Date: NOV 30 2013 KNB 105 15:00 through NOV 30 2013 KNB 105 17:05"

Kellogs says that their other packages are not affected by the recall.  They say on their website that their packages other than 11.2, 22.4 and 37 ounces are not part of the recall as well as " Product with the date of NOV 30 2013 or DEC 02 2013 and KXA, KXB or KXC as part of the Better if Used Before Date."

There have been no reports of injuries however, it is not knowno how the glass could have contaminated the cereal. Kellogs says they will give individuals who are affected by the recall a coupon for a replacement.

CBS reported that last year Kellog's issued a recall on Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size because there may have been a flexible mesh material in the products.

"At Kellogg, our number one priority is the quality and safety of our foods.  All of our processes will be thoroughly reviewed and appropriate actions will be taken to help prevent this situation from happening in the future," says Kellog's website.
