Traveling this Halloween may not be the best option because, well, it's Halloween and it's supposed to be scary.

However, that shouldn't be the case for you and your family. In fact, it can be a perfect time for parents and kids to bond and have fun (for real!).

Here are some family-friendly destinations you might want to consider visiting with your family this Halloween.

Salem, Massachusetts

Salem offers its guests an unforgettable Halloween experience that includes portrayal performances, tours in the witch trial locations, fireworks and magic shows, and many other activities.

If you love Halloween and you are fond of the history of the Salem Witch Trials, this will be the perfect place for your vacation.

The Witch House is also a great spot to explore while in Salem, it is a museum devoted to the Witch Trials.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World Resort will surely spice up your family's vacation. 

The fantasy-filled Halloween event will last until early November. The celebration in the Magic Kingdom Park consists of trick or treat all over the park, an exhibition of Halloween characters, massive fireworks show and more to experience.

Seaworld's Halloween Spooktacular

The SeaWorld Orlando or San Diego offers a fantastic daytime event. Guests are engaged to an underwater theme adventure that involves meeting a mermaid, trick or treating, Halloween dance party, Sesame Street Halloween Parade and other exclusive shows.

Families who want to visit SeaWorld Park are advised to wear their best costumes to add more life to the event.

Legoland's Brick or Treat

During the Brick or Treat event each weekend of October, special Halloween characters will be walking around the park to greet the visitors. 

The families can bring their personal Brick-or-Treat bag to collect candy while exploring the themed trail. A scavenger hunt will also take place, during which visitors will compete in looking for the LEGO Candy Corn.

On the other side, Orlando's Tale of Pirates' Cove will have fireworks show every night of the weekend throughout the duration of the event.

Knott's Scary Farm

Brace yourself and face your fear. Known as one of the biggest and scariest Halloween events in Southern California, the Knott's Scary Farm has all the best elements of an actual horrific nightmare.

The theme park has interesting activities like the uniquely made haunted mazes and interactive zombie experience.

If you want to visit this destination, you don't need to worry about the have kids. The event also has a child-friendly Knott's Spooky Farm with Snoopy and a trick-or-treating activity.

New Orleans, Louisiana

Audubon Zoo has "Boo at the Zoo" event held annually every October, and this three-day Halloween celebration has various exciting activities to try.

Both kids and adults will love the amusement rides, mini trick or treat, and the arts and crafts such as balloon animals and airbrush paintings.

Regardless of the destination, having a short trip or weekend vacation on Halloween can be an amazing adventure when spending it with the family.
