Rapper DMX has been arrested in South Carolina on Wednesday February 13. The Los Angeles Times reported that DMX was charged with driving without a license. He was recently in jail after his probation was revoked because he refused to take a drug test.

DMX, 42, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested after police saw him leaving a gas station in Greer, South Carolina at approximately 1 a.m. reported the Associated Press. He was taken to jail and released after he paid a fine.

DMX has been in trouble before for driving without a license. During the ordeal, his 5-month-old daughter was in the back seat

"They followed me, watched me at the gas station get in the car. And he followed me around the corner, pulled me over. Why, first of all, he could have pulled me over at the gas station as soon as I got in the car. He didn't do that," the rapper said to Fox 10 during an interview.

DMX said that the police followed him around the corner and pulled him over.

"I paid money when I could have just paid money right there on the spot. It's basically just five hours wasted for nothing, you know," he added to Fox 10. "I don't have a court date, I don't have a court appearance. Yeah. I just paid the money and went about my way, and I had my 5-month-old daughter in the car."

The Los Angeles Times reported that DMX  had been arrested in the past for speeding and in 2008 he was arrested on animal cruelty and drug charges after a raid on his house.

"Since 1998, he has been arrested multiple times on charges including using indecent language, driving under the influence, impersonating a federal agent, criminal possession of a weapon, drug possession, animal cruelty, and assault with a deadly weapon," reported CBS.
