"Saturday Night Live" ranked as the third highest rated primetime telecast after it delivered the highest ratings for airing the first ever live episode in all coasts.

According to the recent records, the show's segment which featured Alec Baldwin as President Donald Trump and Melissa McCarthy as White House press secretary, Sean Spicer, gained an average of 7.9 million viewers according to Nielsen's live-same-day measure. Basically, that was the show's best episode ever recorded since February 11.

"Saturday Night Live" continues to be a Saturday "hot smudge" show and just recently, the executive producer also made its final decision to air the last four installments live in all time zones for this season, Variety reported.

Another thing which interest viewers is the "SNL" episode featuring Harry Styles as the musical guest. Such episode was up last week and it was hosted by Louis CK. On the other hand, another highest demo episode for this season was on November 12, 2016 when the show featured the November Presidential Election. It was hosted by Dave Chappelle with a musical guest "A Tribe Called Quest." The show got 8.691 million viewers and 3.15 in 18-49 demographic, Deadline reported.

Definitely, "Saturday Night Live" is right now at its highest point since it started airing last 2008. Airing its episode in all time zones helped the show raise its ratings. It placed other CBS shows like "The Big Bang Theory" and Fox's "Empire" behind as it snatched the third spot for the highest rated primetime telecast on the broadcast networks last week.

Meanwhile, NBC ratings researcher will still continue to analyze the delayed stats for every episode in order to see if the show's ratings will drop due to the all-live telecast. Right now, the show's viewership is currently on 22% in the demo and 28% in total viewers.
