While there some who admitted to being disappointed with the season finale of the show, there is no denying that "This Is Us" is one of the best new shows this season. Many who have been waiting for the revelation of how the Pearson patriarch will die were not happy with the ending of the first season.

Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, who play Jack and Rebecca Pearson recently opened up more about the show and what season 2 should bring. Gold Derby reports that in their recent interview with the pop star turned princess, Moore revealed why she thinks the drama became loved by so many. She explains that she believes that fans all over the world were just looking for an emotional and cathartic type of entertainment.

She has admitted that she has always wanted to play this kind of role. She also confessed that playing the role of the Pearson matriarch from the age 23 to 66 was at first overwhelming. She needed to tap into her acting prowess to be able to give justice to a character who has gone through things that she has not yet experienced.

But her efforts have been worth it as she was recognized for her acting. She earned a Golden Globe nomination last year for her portrayal of the Pearson matriarch, and this year she is a contender for Best Drama Actress in the 2017 Emmy Awards.

Meanwhile, Moore and her partner in the series Milo Ventimiglia says that in the next season, viewers will be satisfied with what will happen at the beginning. Deadline reports that Ventimiglia feels that the focus will also be on Jack and Rebecca mending their broken marriage.

"This Is Us" season 2 is certainly one of the most anticipated series. What are you most looking forward to in the next season? Share your thoughts and comments below.
