"Fear The Walking Dead" executive producer Dave Erickson is stepping down from the show. Airing on AMC, the show is now entering its third season. Although the show's success is eminent, Erickson made this decision to give way for new projects that would need his expertise. He is, however, retaining his showrunner role on in "The Walking Dead" spin-off series, reported TV Series Finale.

"Fear The Walking Dead" season 3 will premiere on AMC this summer of 2017. The show's story revolves in a zombie apocalypse. Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lorenzo James Henrie, Ruben Blades, Mercedes Mason and Colman Domingo are among the stars who give life to the characters in the drama. Joining the new installment is "Buffy" veteran Emma Caulfield.

AMC and Sundance TV programming and development president Joel Stillerman stated that they are beyond grateful for Erickson in doing such an amazing work in the first three seasons of "Fear The Walking Dead." Through Erickson's effort, the aim of "The Walking Dead" to expand its universe became a reality. Stillerman added it was done so creatively and distinct from the original show and that made it number the two drama series in ad-supported cable. Starting this change, they are looking forward to more successful collaboration with Erickson.

It can be recalled that Erickson is the co-creator of the hit zombie spin-off along with "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman. "Fear The Walking Dead" series launched with a six-episode on its first season in 2015. According to Box Office Buzz, Erickson will remain tangled in the series as an executive producer. AMC, however, at present is looking for a suitable replacement to guide the show for a possible season 4.

Meanwhile, Erickson also expressed his gratitude to all the writers, directors, cast and crew of "Fear The Walking Dead." For him, his experience with the people involved in the show is truly an enjoyable one and he is proud of the show's outcome.
