"Sesame Street" is breaking the borders again as they make a comeback for their 47th season and will first air its episode on April 10. The series will be introducing a new character named Julia, which is an autistic muppet character. Further, Sia joined the screen to sing songs together with Elmo and Cookie Monster.

Fans will be thrilled next month as "Sesame Street" debuts a new fantastic character. Julia, just like any other muppets is someone who is very smiling, curious, and someone who loves playing. It is expected for her character to do certain things that are a little different from what is normal due to her being autistic, Cantonrep reported.

There will be scenes where Julia will be introduced to Big Bird but she won't make an eye to eye contact or even speak. Instead, she will just continue what she is doing. Further, this upcoming season hopes to promote awareness and understanding among children with autism.

There had been over 68 children who are diagnosed with autism and such note may cause social communication and behavioral challenges among children. Moreover, the show already announced the arrival of Julia's character in social media last week after the "60 Minutes" special on CBS.

On the other hand, Sia already joined the amazing gang of "Sesame Street." She sings a song on this new season together with Elmo and Cookie Monster. There was a clip where Sia showed her face in the spotlight while wearing her signature wig, a giant pink bow, and a red nose, Metro reported.

The 41-year old singer is definitely following the steps of veteran singers like James Corden and Ed Sheeran who delivered songs dedicated to a brilliant children's show.
