Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, "Outlander" season 3 stars, recently made an appearance to the Emerald City Comicon in Seattle on March 3. The two dropped and spelled off some details about the upcoming season. It was also revealed that the upcoming season has just started with the production at South Africa and it will be expected to end by June 2017.

"Outlander" season 3 is one of the much-anticipated Starz historical time travel series. This series was also based from the novel that was authored by Diana Gabaldon. During the Comicon, Heughan and Balfe took turns in answering questions during the panel discussion. The questions were moderated by Clare Kramer who was known as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", before she head on to South Africa for the season 3 filming, Econotimes reported.

Meanwhile, Balfe will play the role as the main protagonist, Claire Beauchamp Randall/Fraser. She explained that the next season will feature decades after the events that had happened in the second season.

Accordingly, her character in the series believed that Jamie was already dead. Thus, Claire's only option in the upcoming episodes is to survive. It has been known that Claire and Jaime were forced to live separately in season 2 wherein Claire raised her child while at the same time; Jaime tried to survive life without Claire in the past.

As per Catermatt, the production moves to South Africa from Scotland for the season 3 filming. The need to transfer locations was due to some of the sea voyage scenes for the final five episodes. Heughan also confirmed during the Comicon that filming ends by June just in time for the scheduled premiere on September 2017.

Accordingly, the production also considered filming in South Africa a "first day of school". It was because of the fact that most of them were working with new array of crew members.
