Fans who have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Microsoft's latest 2-in-1 hybrid device, the Surface Pro 5, will likely be released in April 2017 at the Windows 10 Creators Event. The new Surface Pro might also be able to outperform Apple's iPad Pro 2.

According to a report from PC Advisor, everyone was hoping that Microsoft would announce the Surface Pro 5 during the Mobile World Congress last February but, sadly it didn't happen. But with the big Windows 10 update coming this April, many have speculated that it's likely the date that Microsoft will unveil its latest 2-in-1 hybrid device.

The report said that the price cut for the Surface Pro 4 is also a good indication that Microsoft is already planning to replace the current model, which was launched in October 2015. The current price for the device has been reduced to £609 (roughly $742), which is down from the £749 ($913) price tag.

Though it has already been more than a year since Microsoft updated its Surface Pro, waiting a while before launching might turn out to be a good decision for the company. The Surface Pro 4 experienced a number of issues after it launched, so delaying the release of the Surface Pro 5 gave Microsoft plenty of time to make sure the device is ready.

It seems as though it is ready enough to take on Apple's iPad Pro 2, as Droid Report said that the 2-in-1 hybrid device can outperform the latest iPad Pro. And its main advantage is due to the Intel core i7 Kaby Lake processor.

The iPad Pro 2 is only powered by Apple's A10X chipset. The latest Surface Pro device is also rumored to come with a cover keyboard, a stylus, and a surface dial, while the latest iPad Pro is expected to have a smart keyboard and the Apple Pencil.

With the Windows 10 Creators Event scheduled for April, fans will soon get a look at the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. Check out the latest rumors regarding the latest Surface Pro in the video below.
