HBO has finally revealed the return of "Game of Thrones" season 7 to its network. It was in a live Facebook event on Thursday when the network officially announced that the Emmy-winning hit series will finally have its season 7 on July 16. HBO also released a new teaser video that will leave fans in awe.

The Facebook live was subscribed by over 150,000 fans and most of them were encouraged to leave their comments with the word "fire" and "dracarys". The video showed a block of ice melted by a torch and it is through the comments of the fans that will help melt the ice faster. Amazingly, the live-video reveal was also combined with a short video of one of the stars, Alfie Allen, Variety reported.

It can be recalled that the show's premiere was delayed by its production. It was supposed to start airing on April since the producers wanted to capture the kind of weather for the series. As of the moment, the production was already based on the Northern Ireland which also had some portions that were filmed in Spain and Iceland.

Further, there was a new teaser video that was released and it featured huge house sigils that turned to ash. It also had a snippet of a dialogue from Jon Snow saying; "There is only one war that matters. The Great War. And it is here", Entertainment Weekly reported.

As per source, the upcoming season will only have seven episodes instead of the usual ten. However, despite the new number of scenes, the production still had spent the same amount of time for its shooting since they actually did it for about five months.

The production expects every episode of the season 7 to be epically beautiful. After season 7, the fans might expect to have it followed by a final run next year, however, it wasn't confirmed by the network.
