We have previously reported that "Poldark" Season 3 does not have a specific air date yet, but it's set to be released later this year. However, recent reports say that the air date would have to be moved earlier to avoid any clashes with Jenna Coleman's "Victoria" Season 2.

Earlier reports say that "Poldark" Season 3 will premiere this fall. According to Celebeat, ITV's "Victoria" Season 2 air date is about the same date as "Poldark", and BBC would want to avoid the same clash that happened last year.

"Poldark" Season 2 went head-to-head with "Victoria" and the ratings battle was intense. After the "Victoria" finale was aired, ratings for "Poldark" improved slightly. Audience were split, and BBC may want to avoid the same scenario.

The difference in rating is very slight, but "Victoria" takes the lead, reports say. The reason could be that those who started watching the show is now already behind in watching "Poldark," and so some audiences may just have chosen to stick watching "Victoria."

Eleanor Tomlinson has earlier said that it was a "a real shame that they came out at the same time," but aadded that although the audience was split, her series still "pulled through" in the end. "Poldark" producer Mammoth Screen is hoping that Season 3 will be aired this May instead. BBC has not commented on this issue yet.

Although "Poldark" suffered in the ratings battle, the show still continues to give a wonderful slice of entertainment, Cartermatt reported. Acting is great, too, and as a matter of fact, Aidan Turner is recently nominated by the Irish Film & Television Academy for their IFTA Film and Drama Awards.

Turner is nominated for the Actor in a Leading Role in the Drama category. He would be competing against Dara Devaney from "An Klondike 2," Cillian Murphy from "Peaky Blinders," James Nesbit "The Secret," and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor from "Trial of the Century."
