Nintendo Switch will be the first console to receive the highly anticipated "Stardew Valley" multiplayer. The feature, however, will be released first on PC but not necessarily this summer.

Chucklefish has been releasing update since "Stardew Valley" was released over a year ago. However, it appears that the developer behind it is not done with updates just yet. The entire 2016 was a series of updates including interesting feature additions. The biggest feature perhaps being worked on right now is the "Stardew Valley" multiplayer, which is still in the works and will arrive on the PC version of Stardew Valley.

When the Nintendo Switch version of the game was announced with console first access to multiplayer, many assumed that this meant that the multiplayer update would be coming over the summer alongside Switch version releases. However, "Stardew Valley" creator Eric Barone clarified some Nintendo messaging from the company's most recent indie event. He said that PC owners will still get "Stardew Valley" multiplayer first and that Nintendo Switch will be the first console appearance for the feature.

According to Polygon, Nintendo confirmed the version of "Stardew Valley" landing to the Switch would be the first console to take advantage of the recently launched multiplayer mode. The statement comes just a day after the one-year anniversary of "Stardew Valley's" release.

Stardew Valley is just one of the many indie titles coming to the Switch that Nintendo validated on February 28. Others indie games included are "Shakedown Hawaii," "War Groove," and "Pocket Rumble" to name a few. Many of these indie titles will be timed-exclusives for the Switch, which means they will be accessible to play first on the hybrid console.

"Stardew Valley" is available to play on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. It is expected to release on Nintendo Switch this summer.
