"Farpoint" Impulse Games' virtual reality shooter will be available on PlayStation VR on May 16. Here is what the upcoming VR game is all about.

Earlier in 2017, PlayStation VR was launched. Many owners are gradually working their way through the considerable library of games launched since its international release late in 2016. So far, "Resident Evil 7" is one of the best-selling titles for the system. There are reports however that many bought the system after seeing a shooter gamed called "Farpoint."

"Farpoint" and Impulse Games

"Farpoint," is a VR shooter created by Impulse Gear, which appears to be very promising back on its launch at E3. Impulse Gear was a small, San Francisco-based team of developers formed in late 2013 with the possibilities of virtual reality on their minds and an aim to create games in the growing ecosystem. What used to be a three-man group of founders has grown into a 14-person team creating "Farpoint" in 2016. The game is fixed in space on a planet far from the Earth. "Farpoint" seems to highlight natural dialogue between its characters. Apart from that, it underlines the typical set up of a man shooting space monsters.

"Farpoint" Gameplay

"Farpoint" is a VR game set in the distant future, on an alien planet. Players are stranded and will need to find any survivors as well as a crashed space station called, The Pilgrim in order to go back home. The game utilizes the PlayStation VR Aim where players will need to use a stash of weapons to defend themselves against the hostile beings of the peculiar planet. The Aim Controller used in the game is a gun peripheral that is intended to make PlayStation VR shooter games more immersive, says Game Informer.

In "Farpoint," players will learn how to master a collection of primary and secondary weapons as they explore the new environment without restrictions. Players can also discover the secret of the anomaly that has them stranded in the place.
